Hyderabad: Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan, Telangana state Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, Telangana ministers, legislators and other VIPs participated in the ‘Samagra Kutumba Survey 2014’ (Intensive Household Survey) conducted by the Telangana government on Tuesday.
GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, along with his senior staff, visited Raj Bhavan and Chief Minister’s camp office to personally supervise the enumeration of the family members of the Governor and the CM.
The Governor and Chief Minister provided all details to the enumerators. Some ministers and legislators went to their respective constituencies to get themselves enrolled.
The Governor personally gave details of his family members. There is 99 per cent response to the survey, Mr Kumar told reporters after enumeration at the Raj Bhavan.
Similarly, Mr Kumar and other senior officials visited the Chief Minister’s camp office at Begumpet to collect the details.
Mr Chandrasekhar Rao, wife Shobha, son and IT minister K.T. Rama Rao, daughter-in-law Shailima, grandchildren Himanshu and Alekhya were present.
Mr Rao gave details to the GHMC commissioner and senior officials and handed over the papers along with that of his granddaughter.
At Siddipet, irrigation minister T. Harish Rao participated in the survey along with his family members. Stating that the survey was a big hit and people from all walks of life participated, the minister flayed critics of the survey and attempts to sabotage it.
“We are committed to provide a corruption-free government. We do not fear anyone. Some are even trying to criticise the government schemes to provide three acres of land to landless Dalits, like Jeevan Reddy, which is quite unfortunate,” he said.
Asking the Opposition to stop indulging in mudslinging against the government, he said they should welcome good decisions and extend support in constructive work.
Excise minister T. Padma Rao along with family members gave details to visiting enumerators at his residence in Secunderabad.
Legislative Council chairman Swami Goud participated in the survey at his residence in Rajendranagar.
A team of GHMC officials too went to the residence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu, and collected the data. “Since all the family members were not available, the details were given by a member of the household,” a GHMC official said.
Mr Naidu was preoccupied with the Assembly session.
Contrary to the initial resistance and criticism, Opposition leaders from all parties including Bandaru Dattatreya, Gutta Sukhender Reddy and others participated in the survey.
