Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan asks both CMs not to air their differences in public

Both CMs had exchanged greetings in public on two occasions before the meeting
Hyderabad: The impromptu meeting between Mr Rao and Mr Naidu, was organised at the instance of the Governor on Friday at Raj Bhavan, almost immediately after concluding the ceremonial “At Home” function, which was attended by both CMs.
“The meeting was very cordial, and it was held on the initiative of the Governor. Several issues were discussed during the 50-minute meeting and the Governor is hopeful of restoring normal relations between the two governments and the two CMS,” said Raj Bhavan officials after the meeting.
Both CMs had exchanged greetings in public on two occasions before the meeting, including at the At Home function on Friday as they sat on either side of the Governor, speaking to each other occasionally.
He advised them not to air their differences in public, as that would send a different message to the people. He said that if they agreed he was ready to host dinner meetings more frequently for the two to thrash out the issues. He also reportedly said that he would take up every issue with the central government and get them resolved.
Sources added that at the beginning of the meeting, Mr Naidu and Mr Rao blamed each other for creating the controversies. Mr Rao reportedly observed that it would be better for his counterpart to concentrate in the aff-airs of AP instead of interfering in Telangana issues. To this, Mr Naidu reportedly said he was the head of TD, which existed in both states and Hyderabad being the common capital for 10 years, he had every right to talk and act on the issues concerning citizens of the city.
The governor reportedly observed that it was not desirable for them to take different positions on the issues and that it would be better for them to bring the issues to his notice so that he could try and resolve them amicably.
