HTC goes PHUNK, launches new limited edition handsets

HTC has 64 specially designed contemporary art handsets for sale

HTC has gone PHUNK. Literally, the brand has joined hands with PHUNK Studio to create limited edition handsets for the HTC One (M8).

There will be 64 specially designed contemporary art One (M8) handsets available in select countries.

PHUNK Studio, an internationally acclaimed art and design collective based out of Singapore. PHUNK is in its 20th year of art design and creation. Previous PHUNK collaborations include Rolling Stone, NIKE, MTV, and Levi’s.

HTC states, “A lot of our inspiration is found through travelling, conversations with local friends, trips to libraries, book stores and museums,” says Jackson Tan, PHUNK’s Creative Director. “We are really excited to be involved in something that allows us to further spread our creativity in areas we haven’t yet explored when it comes to innovation in technology.”

The one-of-a-kind artwork emblazoned on the HTC One (M8)’s exterior makes HTC’s cutting-edge metal unibody design pop. The handset offers the full collection of features and technology that made the original HTC One (M8) a consumer favorite. This includes the new Duo Camera and HTC UltraPixel sensor that allows users to take breathtaking pictures with new depth dimensions, regardless of the amount of daylight. A five-inch screen, HTC BlinkFeed, and HTC Sense® 6 are also included.

“PHUNK is a hugely talented collective of designers and artists whose global perspective and attention to craft mirrors our values on the HTC design team,” says Jonah Becker, HTC’s Head of Design.
