With 5 consecutive holidays from August 15 to 19 people have made weekend plans
Hyderabad: This weekend seems to bring in a lot to cheer about with the five consecutive holidays from August 15 to 19. Relieved from their daily routine, people in the city already seem to have made their weekend plans.
Schools across the city have just completed their sub-term exams. Sona Raj, a Class XII student of Maths, Science and Fashion Studies from Delhi Public School said, “All the classes have finished their exams and for the long weekend we have a stack of project work to finish. As part of a fashion week that will be held next week, all of us have a total of three projects to finish for which we will be graded. So there is ample time.”
Meanwhile this is peak placement time for Engineering colleges across the city. Anirudh Kulkarni, a Second Year Computer Science student from Chaitanya Bharati Institute of Technology said that the weekend would give them more time to prepare. “Most hostelites have left for home and will return on Wednesday morning. Many have gone to Warangal, Kurnool and some even to Bengaluru. On Monday, which is the only working day in between, most students plan on taking a holiday. Not many placements are lined up on that day,” he said.
Mr Sarvotham Kulkarni, AGM, State Bank of Hyderabad, Tank Bund Branch said, “This is going to be a relaxed weekend from work. The last week was hectic because of the owner-cum-driver scheme, where we had to give loans for 105 cars. Also,. my brother and his family are coming down.”
Family court advocate Mr C.V.L. Narsimha Rao said, “I am planning to switch off my phone and take up pending gardening work in the greenhouse I have set up on my terrace. Apart from that I am also going to work on a film script.”
Techie Shipra Singh is going to Pune to meet her friends. “It is very rare to get a whole week of holidays in August and I want to make the most of it,” she said.
