Survey to be held in disputed villages

There has been a territorial dispute between the two states in this area

Adilabad: The Telangana State government will conduct the scheduled household survey in 12 disputed villages of Antapur and Paramdoli gram panchayats in the Kerameri mandal located on the borders of TS and Maharashtra.

There has been a territorial dispute between the two states in this area. The TS government does not want lose its control over the 12 disputed villages. It is thus conducting the survey here to strengthen its argument that the villages belong to Telangana. People of these 12 disputed villagers cast their votes in all the elections held in both the states.

A case with regard to the disputed villages is pending in the SC, where both the states are claiming rights on the territory and providing all welfare and development facilities to the villagers. The villagers of these villages had availed of benefits offered by both Maharashtra and undivided AP and now TS.

There are nearly 2,000 voters from these two gram panchayats. The disputed villages are Lendiguda, Bholapathar, Gowri, Indiranagar, Yesapur, Narayanguda, Padmavati in Antapur gram panchayat, while Kota, Mukadamguda, Mharajguda, Shankar Loddi and Lendijala in Paramdoli gram panchayat make up the others.
