Hyderabad: Deepak Dev, music composer of the Malayalam film Avataram, has come forward to clear the air about the recent controversy that surrounded music director S. Thaman.
Thaman was accused of copying the background score of Aagadu from the Malayalam film Avataram. Deepak said, “My editor used the BGM of Aagadu as a dummy score for the trailer and he actually did not know that it was from the Telugu film.”
“I’ve not even composed background (BG) score for Avataram yet. Being an enthusiast, our editor used already available tracks online including Aagadu music, to cut the trailer. I’m now aware of it,” he added.
While some of Thaman’s fans came out in his support, others criticised the music composer for believing that his music was copied. Things seem to be settling down now in Thaman’s court.
