Mumbai: While his cricketing prowess are exemplary, Rahul Dravid has always come across as a humble human being. Someone who continues to remain down to earth even amidst all the adulation he gets.

His compassionate side too came into focus when he took out time to speak with one patient who was battling with cancer. The story goes that one of the relatives of the patient wrote emails to Rahul Dravid requesting him to speak with the patient who was Dravid’s big fan. None of them though were too hopeful that Dravid could find time from his busy schedule and speak with him.
To their surprise, Vijeta, Dravid’s wife then contacted one of the relatives after going through their emails and to their surprise promised that Rahul would interact with the patient via skype. As promised Rahul Dravid spoke with the patient for an hour. At one point even apologising to the patient for not being able to meet him in person.

While the patient could not win his battle with cancer, the struggles he had to undergo might have reduced by a bit after speaking with someone he admired.
