Hyderabad: The Supreme Court on Monday refused to extend the time limit for completing admissions of Eamcet 2014 in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and ruled that the process should be completed by August 31, in accordance with the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act 2014.

While dealing with an interim application by the Telangana state government, a two-member bench comprising Justice Sudhansu Jyoti Mukhopadhaya and Justice S.A. Bobde was not inclined to intervene in the issues of nativity of the students in Telangana and the fee-reimbursement scheme introduced by the Telangana state government.
When counsel appearing for the Telangana government sought extension of time till October 31 to complete the Eamcet admission process, the Supreme Court bench was disinclined and reminded him that “on the last occasion, you agreed to complete the admission process by the end of August.”
The bench said that if counsel pressed for extension of time, it would dismiss the interim application.
