Sreeramulu goes on offensive against Congress

'I was elected 3 times only because of development I brought to the constituency,'

Bellary: Rebutting the claims of Congress leaders that the Bellary (ST) assembly constituency he represented for years had not seen any development, BJP Member of Parliament, B. Sreeramulu on Thursday challenged them to an open debate on the work undertaken in the district over the last six years.

Speaking to reporters after a party workers meeting at Cowl Bazar here, Mr Sreeramulu, who won from Bellary (ST) assembly constituency in three successive elections in 2008, 2011 and 2013, claimed he had worked hard to provide roads, drinking water and primary health centres in every village in the district. “I was elected three times only because of the development I brought to the constituency as a legislator and minister,” he contended.

Going on the offensive, the MP accused the ruling Congress of not sanctioning any special grants for the district in the 16 months that it had been in office. “I will shortly call a meeting of booth workers and ask them to counter the Congress party’s allegations by telling people how they have been ill-treated and neglected over the last 16 months,” he declared.
