Mumbai: Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi, whose film Children of Heaven was the first movie from his country to receive an Oscar nomination, is in talks with Sushant Singh Rajput for a new project. Whispers within the industry have picked up about Majid and Sushant agreeing to collaborate and discussing the project.
A source told DC, “Majid Majidi, after his initial meeting with Sushant Singh Rajput, has been in touch with him to discuss the project in detail. However, it may be a while before the project takes off as Sushant is committed to multiple films, as is Majid.”
Last year, it was reported that Majid is making a film, Floating Gardens, with Eye Candy Films, for which he was in India. It isn’t clear if Sushant is part of this film or another project.
While Majid couldn’t be contacted, Sushant Singh Rajput said, “Yes, he met me when he was in India and it was a surreal feeling to talk to one of the world’s best (directors). But, nothing has been confirmed yet.”
