G. Parameshwar birthday wish: Want Deputy Chief Minister's post

He was quick to add that he would be the last man to lobby for the post
Bengaluru: In a clear and unambiguous expression of his political ambitions, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, president(KPCC) Dr G. Parameshwar on Wednesday asserted that he was capable of handling any responsibility including that of deputy chief minister (DyCM) in the Siddaramaiah government.
Speaking to reporters during his 64th birthday celebrations organised by his fans association, Dr Parameshwar said, “Yes, if all had gone well in May 2013, I would have been the chief minister of the state. But, my defeat in the Assembly elections cost me dear. It is but natural for me to expect to be DCM. A promotion from the post of KPCC president post to DCM is the least I can expect from party central leaders.”
He was quick to add that he would be the last man to lobby for the post as he had always left it to the Congress top brass to take the final call on his role. “All I can say at this point is that my entry into the cabinet will only strengthen the position of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah”, he said.
Dr Parameshwar also said he was not against anyone else including law and parliamentary affairs minister T.B. Jayachandra becoming DCM. “Mr Jayachandra is much senior to me in politics. When I entered politics, he was already a legislator and minister,” he explained.
