Telugu Desam ministers’ infight comes to surface

Naidu asks Ch Ayyana Patrudu and Ganta Srinivasa Rao to shun their differences

Visakhapatnam: Just days ahead of Chief Minister N. Chadrababu Naidu’s visit to Vizag, differences between Cabinet colleagues Ch. Ayyana Patrudu and Ganta Srinivasa Rao have become public.

Mr Patrudu alleged that Pratyusha Associates, a firm which Mr Rao once was associated with, had bagged a contract to build a multiplex on a 1.5 acre site belonging to the RTC in Narsipatnam, through questionable means.

HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao and panchayat raj minister Ch. Ayyana Patrudu are considered to be archrivals, but in a rare bonhomie the ministers had reviewed arrangements for Mr Naidu’s visit together last week, seemingly after burying the hatchet. It is learnt that Mr Naidu had asked both the leaders to shun their differences and work together for the party.

Mr Patrudu is said to have written to the Mr Naidu, transport minister and RTC MD that Prathyusha Associates had no experience in construction and that the selection process for bidding was done in a dubious manner during the regime of former chief minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh Kiran Kumar Reddy.
