AP Government have begun the exercise of constituting a new trust board

Tirupati: With the annual Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala fast approaching and the present trust board of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams led by former Congress MP Kanumuri Bapiraju constituted by the erstwhile Congress led state government refusing to step down, the TD led government is learnt to have begun the exercise of constituting a new trust board by nominating a new chairman and board of trustees for the largest temple organisation in the country.
According to highly placed sources, the government has begun the exercise of scrutinising the applications received from not just within the state but from other states as well for the posts of TTD board members besides the most important TTD chairman post.
This time though the pressure is less owing to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh with the applications from the 13 districts of the residual state of Andhra Pradesh to weigh stronger over the applicants from other southern states including Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and also the Telangana state, there definitely is added pressure on the state government considering the fact that the Chief minister's office is already flooded with applications from the Telugu desam leaders who have sat in the opposition for close to a decade now, mounting pressure on the CM's office to be considered being nominated to the most coveted TTD trust board.
And with such pressure from all quarters, the state government has already made it clear that the present composition of the TTD trust board shall be enhanced besides the fixed number of ex-officio members to accommodate more persons in the trust board. It is learnt that the state government is all set to complete the exercise of constituting the TTD trust board before the 10th of August to give sufficient time for the new board to gear up for the annual Srivari Brahmotsavams slated to commence from September 26.
