Hyderabad: A joint IG rank official of stamps and registration department in Andhra Pradesh said the government had not issued any instructions to stop the registrations in 13 districts of AP.
“There is no provision in the law. However the government is working to invoke any provisions of other revenue Acts and also contemplating on amendments to the Act,” he explained. The targeted revenue of the department for this year is Rs 3,404 crore. As the capital is likely to come up in these three districts, the transfer of properties, mostly land, has increased, the officer said.
In June 2013, the top three areas of Krishna district saw registration of 497 sale documents with revenue of Rs 2.99 crore. In June this year, it had increased to 1,151 sale documents with revenue of Rs 6.84 crore. The figures were 506 documents in May 2013 and 697 in May 2014. Guntur showed more growth than Krishna district. In June 2014, 1,210 sale documents were registered with Rs 2.96 crore revenue as against 172 documents with Rs 41 lakh revenue in June 2013 in the three top sub registrar office jurisdiction areas. In May 2014, the number of sale documents registered was 1,572 as against 192 in May 2013. Out of three sub registrar offices in Guntur, the most sought after places were Nambur, Pedakakani, Koppuravuru, Kaja. Etukuru, Budampadu, Navuluru. Chinakakani,
Tadepalli and Atmakuru. Vijayawada East district register G. Srinivas said, “There are two reasons for increase in the registration of sale documents. There is a real estate boom due to the talk of the capital and and the proposals for increasing the market value from August 1 are pending with the government.”
