Hyderabad: A Facebook post that read “Just won an all-state (well... 2 states) runner up award for Best Apartment Design for 2013-14 from the Institute of Indian Interior Designers!,” brought Vizag’s Ameet Mirpuri a flood of wishes from family and friends.
Ameet is one of the most sought-after interior designers in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He has designed for Novotel, the Palm Beach Hotel in Vizag, Over The Moon at Hotel Daspalla in Hyderabad, etc.
Ameet, who won the honour in the apartment category for an assignment he had done on Vizag’s Beach Road, says, “We were the only ones from AP to send in entries for the award ceremony, which was held in Hyderabad. Last year, also, we had won the Best Hospitality Design award for Over The Moon,” adds the 34-year-old Ameet, who expanded his studio to Hyderabad three months ago and is currently working on two convention centres and a boutique hotel in the city.
About the winning apartment, he says “The designs are very eclectic. The judges also wrote that the apartment won the award because the designs had an international flair to it.”
