Chinese graziers pitched tents in another incursion attempt in Ladakh

Two incidents have already taken place of incursion in the past in Ladakh

Mumbai: In yet another incident of intrusion by Chinese troops, graziers pitched tents in the Demchok area of Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir but removed after talks between troops on either side of the border.

A patrol from China’s People's Liberation Army team reached soon after India’s patrolling team reached the spot. Sources say a flag meeting between the commanders from both sides finally resulted in the Chinese agreeing to move back the graziers a day after.

The tents were pitched at the Demchok sector, which is situated along the Line of Actual Contral (LAC).

"Incursions along the border take place due to the difference of perception about boundary," Home Minister Rajnath Singh had said in response to the reported incursions.

PM Narendra Modi and Chinese PM Xi Jinping met over the sidelines of BRICS summit and where the two emphasised on the need for speedy negotiations to settle disputes over the 4,000-km Himalayan border.

Two incidents of intrusion have already taking place in the past in the Demchok and Chumar areas, in Ladakh.
