New Delhi: Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh talked to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here on Friday over the clashes that broke out at the Baltal camping ground.
Singh asked Abdullah to take all necessary steps to control the situation in Baltal.
Earlier on Friday, clashes broke out in Baltal between the local laborers and the non local people amidst the ongoing Amarnath Yatra. Many were injured in the clash.
Post clashes the locals took to streets shouting slogans to protest against the outsiders. The police had to even use tear gas to disperse the protesters.
Paramilitary forces have been deployed in the area and the Amarnath Yatra from Baltal route has been suspended.
