Jayasurya junior set to debut in Lal Bahadur Shastri

Meet Jayasurya's son Adwaith, who is only in Class III
Kochi: Yet another star is about to rise on the filmi horizon with debutant director Rejishh Midhila’s upcoming movie Lal Bahadur Shastri. The new star kid on the block is Jayasurya’s son Adwaith, who will play the young Jayasurya in the film.
Says Jayasurya, “The director asked me if it would be possible for Adwaith to play my childhood role in the movie and I agreed. Adwaith has been interested in films ever since he reached Class I and so he is happy about it. Since his birth, he has been bred on films, it seems natural to him I think.”
Jayasurya adds, “But the difference is, while I become friends with the actors in the industry, all his friends are cinematographers and editors. In fact, even though he is still just in Class III, he has already directed quite a few short films and he himself did the cinematography, editing, direction and even acted in quite a few of them.”
“I have made many short films like Friendship and now I’m going to act in dad’s film,” chimes in Adwaith in his shy, cute, squeaky voice.
Jayasurya says he is still amazed at the opportunities that are available for the present generation. “It’s really astonishing how easily a role in a movie came to him. For my generation, you had to go through so many hardships to bag even a bit role. I still remember the struggle I had to go through. But I suppose it’s that struggle I endured that makes things easier for him and I’m happy he recognises that. When we go to watch a film, he even claps when the cinematographer’s and editor’s names appear on the credit roll. He understands and respects the effort required and is well aware of what goes into making a movie. I’m very happy about that,” adds Jayasurya.
The shooting of Lal Bahadur Shastri, in which Jayasurya appears as Lal, Nedumudi Venu as Bahadur and Aju Varghese as Shastri, is set to begin in a few days. And little Jayasurya Adwaith will also become a name in the film industry in his own right.
