Hyderabad: The Hyderabad High Court on Monday issued notices to the Centre and the Andhra Pradesh government on a plea seeking to direct the Gas Authority of India Ltd and the Oil and Natural Gas Commission to shift the Gas Control Station located in the midst of habitation to a far away and isolated place, with immediate effect.

A Division Bench of the Hyderababd High Court dealt with the plea by Dr R.S. Ratnakar, a resident of Nagaram village of East Godavari district.

He submitted that 19 people lost their lives and several others sustained injuries in the fire accident on June 27 in Nagaram village due to leakage of gas.

Notice were issued to the Centre, AP government, GAIL and ONGC, directing them to file their versions on the plea. The case was adjourned for six weeks
