Chandrababu Naidu makes surprise visit to state Secretariat

CM was in shock when he went to the eighth floor of L Block allotted to him

Hyderabad: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made a surprise visit to the AP Secretariat here boosting the morale of Seemandhra employees who were cribbing about lack of facilities. The morale of the Seemandhra employees took a beating after Telangana government erected fencing and barricades between the two Secretariats without consulting them.

Employees complained to Mr Naidu that they did not have proper furniture, and that even some of the IAS officers were not allotted chambers. Even the Chief Minister’s two principal secretaries and a secretary do not have proper office. Some of them urged Mr Naidu to shift to AP state faster.

The CM was in for a shock when he went to the eighth floor of L Block that was allotted to him and other connected offices. The entire floor was in a mess and when Mr Naidu asked how much time it would take for the office to be ready, officials replied it could take three months.

The government recently sanctioned Rs 10 crore to renovate the CM’s office. Mr Naidu expressed dissatisfaction over the pathetic state of affairs in L and J Blocks he inspected and told the officials that a new CM’s office can be constructed in three months. He asked them to speed up the work as the Lake View Guest House from where he is presently running his camp office was just insufficient without even a proper dining room to feed the guests.

"Even a revenue divisional officer-rank official is forced to adjust with a single table and four staffers. This is the sorry state of affairs," the Chief Minister remarked. "Its more than 30 days since the state has been divided but even officers do not have proper accommodation. My office is not yet ready and it may take two or three months more," Chandrababu said.

AP Secretariat Seemandhra Employees Forum Chairman Mr Muralikrishna informed the Chief Minister that injustice was done to AP in allocation of office space in Secretariat as common utilities like post office, banks and canteens were shown as office space due to which 20,000 square feet of valuable office space was lost.
