New Delhi: At a time when the government is looking to use social media to engage with the public, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday and discussed ways in which the social networking platform can be used to connect the government with the people.
Interestingly, Mr Modi on Thursday became the third-most-followed world leader on Twitter, next only to US President Barack Obama and the Pope.
“Had a very fruitful meeting with Sheryl Sandberg. She pointed out that India is a very important country for Facebook, considering the high number of active Facebook users in India,” wrote.
The Prime Minister said that being an avid user of social media himself, he talked about ways through which Facebook could be used for governance and better interaction.
