AP Film Chamber of Commerce row may be resolved soon

Telangana producers has demanded to divide AP Film Chamber of Commerce into two

Hyderabad: The rift between the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana producers and exhibitors regarding the Film Chamber of Commerce might be bridged shortly. Things were pretty amicable on Friday during the general body meeting at the AP Film Chamber of Commerce (APFCC), held to change the name from “Andhra Pradesh” to “Telugu”.

“We have spoken to the APFCC secretary and president regarding the issue of a separate chamber for Telangana. We have assured them of our full support for development of cinema here in Hyderabad and at the same time we have asked them to divide (the chamber) for the two sates,” said Allani Sridhar, one of the coordinators for Telangana producers.

He added that five people each from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana would form a committee and discuss the process. “The APFCC will function for Andhra and the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce will look after the 10 districts of Telangana,” added Sridhar. The APFCC has thus decided to put on hold the name change.
