Chandrababu Naidu urges more forces to expedite relief

AP CM urged the Centre to divert more forces to speed up the rescue operations at the building collapse site

Nellore: AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu urged the Centre to divert more forces to speed up the rescue operations at the building collapse site. The death toll was 19 and counting on Monday.

The CM went to Chennai to console the AP victims in the building collapse. Earlier in the day he witnessed the launch of PSLV-C23 at Shar, Sriharikota on Monday.

The CM visited the collapse site at Mowlivakkam and was given a brief on the rescue process and why the National Disaster Response Force(NDRF) was taking time to cut through the concrete considering the safety of those trapped.

Speaking to reporters using a PA system at a government school near the collapse site, Mr Naidu sought the Centre to send more NDRF personnel to expedite the rescue.

“It has already been three days since the incident was reported. There is an urgent need to rescue those trapped inside as the delay can be fatal for them,” he said.
