Andhra Pradesh to roll out 17 industrial polcies

AP government would soon conduct a mega industrial meet in Visakhapatnam

Hyderabad: The AP government will soon roll out over 17 industrial policies allowing industries to kick start their companies within three months time.

The state IT minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy said Visakhaptanam, Guntur-Vijayawada, Kakinada, Anantapur and Tirupati have been identified as favourable regions for startups and expansion.

IT Investment Region (ITIR) would be developed in Visakhapatnam and Tirupati with state-of-the-art infrastructure and at the same time four IT hubs have been proposed to come up in Anantapur, Guntur and Vijayawada. The minister, interacting with industrialists at a business promotion meet on Monday, said that the policies are being designed to make AP the No.1 silicon corridor of India by 2020, attract $2 billion business in IT sector, 5 per cent national export in software, the best in quality and quantity of e-services and make villages digital.

Chief secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao said there was no dearth of land availability in the state and AP could provide place that would be most suitable for their establishments.

He also called on the industrialists to focus on the electronic sector involving manufacturing firms that have more potential of business and direct employment than the IT sector.

The Andhra Pradesh government would soon conduct a mega industrial meet in Visakhapatnam that will comprise a tour to industrial sites and proposed hubs.

Chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would be participating in the event where over CEO’s and representatives of over 100 IT companies are expected to take part.

The chief secretary of the state said the AP government has set a mission that involves best e-governance, IT and Electronic and innovative and capacity building.

Industrialist from various fronts took part in the meet.
