Motorola Moto G and Moto X to get Android L is fake

Fake reports about Moto G and Moto X to get Android L updates are making rounds

Google unveiled the Android L at the Google I/O 2014 event this week. Smartphone users have been keen on knowing when they will get the updated Android operating system on their phones.

Various reports are doing rounds on the Internet, which states that Motorola Germany has posted information about Moto G and Moto X getting Android L updates this fall and the version number being Android Lolipop v5.0.

According to Android Authority, a post by TechnologieJunkie mentions that they spoke to Motorola and confirmed that the news, and the Facebook profile were both fake. Soon later, the Facebook profile was deleted, but the news spread like wildfire. They also managed to get a screenshot of the post before the profile vanished from Facebook.

Well, Android L is still in development and has not yet rolled out the gates at Google. Presently, nexus 5 and Nexus 7 are the only devices which have officially been given the beta release of the Android L to try out. Google also stated that the Android L release for the Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 will be buggy and is for testing purposes only. For the rest of the smartphones, we assume, developers on XDA can be their only source of porting the new platform, even though they will still remain on beta version and include bugs. Google would release the final, next version of the Android operating system only a few months from now. The only devices to get the first official final release of Android L will be the compatible Nexus devices and the rest of the handsets will follow after that.
