Coastal Andhra Pradesh likely to get heavy rains

India Meteorology Department warned that heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in north coastal Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam: The India Meteorology Department warned that heavy rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places in north coastal Andhra Pradesh in the next 24 hours. The cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh and neighbourhood has been extending up to 0.9 km above mean sea level and weathermen predict that the system would persist for the next 24 hours. As a result, moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers likely to occur at many places in Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, and Visakhapatnam.

Light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places over Telangana and in East and West Godavari of Coastal Andhra Pradesh. Rain or thundershowers are also likely to occur at isolated places over Rayalaseema. Further, many areas in north Andhra received moderate rainfall in the last 24 hours. Itchapuram in Srikakulam received 8 cm,
Cheepurupalli got 6 cm, Therlam in Vizianagaram district got 5 cm, Paderu in Vizag agency received 5 cm rainfall in the last 24 hours. Kalingapatnam, Sompeta, Palasa in Srikakulam district with 3 cm; and Komarada recorded 3 cm rainfall.

Further, severe heat wave conditions prevailed in East Godavari and Guntur districts in Coastal area; Medak and Warangal of Telangana; heat wave conditions prevailed Visakhaptanam, Krishna, Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh and Hyderabad, Karimnagar and other places. Nalgonda, Rangareddy and Nizamabad of Telangana state.
