Telangana government to invite 160 countries in first industrial summit

The event may be held either in December this year or January 2015

Hyderabad: The Partnership Summit will be a unique platform which would bring together heads of governments, trade ministers, industry leaders and academicians from across the world.

The TRS government is planning to invite over 160 countries for the event. Last time, companies from about 44 countries had attended. Mr Rao wants the event, planned either in December this year or January 2015, to be inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee.

Mr Rao’s son and IT minister K.T. Rama Rao has been playing an active role in organising the summit by holding discussions with officials of the Industries department besides CII and FICCI.

Mr Rama Rao said, “The government is now in the process of finalising an attractive industrial policy. The policy is expected to be out by August. Once it is out, we will approach all the top national and international firms to set up their operations in T state and invite them for the Partnership Summit in December-end this year or January 2015.”

Mr Rama Rao added that Telangana continued to be the most favoured destination for big industrialists and the decision of Tata Group to set up it’s another Aerospace project on the city’s outskirts had proved this again.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the project will be held on Monday.

“This is the first big investment coming to the Telangana state after Mr Rao took over as Chief Minister. There are several such big project in the pipeline,” Mr Rama Rao added.
