Centre to replace all panel heads

Chiefs of NCW and other organisations may also get new chiefs

New Delhi: A full-blown political war has begun, with the Narendra Modi government, which has been gunning for UPA-appointed governors, intensifying its “clean-up” operation, targeting chairpersons and members of various bodies, like the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), asking them to resign from their posts.

Bodies like the National Commission for Women, commissions for SCs and STs and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) may also get new chiefs in the overhaul by the new BJP government. It is learnt that Union home secretary Anil Goswami called up the members asking them to step down.
Sources said the government may end up tying itself in knots with the spate of resignations from various heads.
