Hear me out Narendra Modi: Woman who alleged rape by Union minister

‘Cabinet minister Nihalchand Meghwal should be removed’

Jaipur: Union minister for chemicals and fertilisers Nihalchand Meghwal, who has been accused of rape in a 2011 case, came under pressure yet again after the woman on Tuesday alleged that she was being threatened to withdraw her complaint.

The victim has requested Modi to meet her for a few minutes to narrate her ordeal.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a good person, but Cabinet Minister Meghwal is not and should be removed,” she said.

The woman has said she remembers the horrific incident of 2011 and recognises Meghwal.

She also appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack Mr Meghwal even as National Commission for Women chairperson Mamta Sharma said that the commission would write to Mr Modi seeking his dismissal.

The minister was reportedly missing from the office throughout the day as the woman once again pointed a finger at him when she appeared on a news channel.

The woman, who is from Haryana, claimed she was being pressured by the minister’s aides to withdraw the charges levelled against him, according to some news channels.

Alleging intimidation, she said she needed security as she feared for her life.
