Cablemen block TV9, ABN Andhra Jyothy

Channels allegedly telecasted programme against T-language and T-assembly

Hyderabad: Telangana Cable TV operators have decided to halt the transmission of TV9 and ABN Andhra Jyothy channels in T-state indefinitely for allegedly attacking the T-language and dialect and for insulting the T-Assembly and its legislators besides broadcasting malicious propaganda against the T-government.

The operators under the umbrella of Telangana MSO Association met here on Monday and decided to block TV9 and ABN channels. They urged media organisations not to adopt an anti-Telangana stand for giving positive coverage to AP. They said they have no objection if media groups present facts, but they will not tolerate false propaganda against Telangana.

Association president Subhash Reddy said both the channels have already been blocked in some areas and the blackout has been extended to the entire state from Monday. Both the groups came under fire from Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao in the Assembly recently.
