Deepika Padukone hikes her fee to Rs 7.5 crore for endorsements

Despite her high remuneration, Deepika continues to have leading brands with her

Mumbai: Thanks to a spate of box office blockbusters, Deepika Padukone is in the enviable position of demanding the price she thinks best for her various endorsement deals.

Having left behind contemporaries like Vidya Balan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra, Deepika is truly at the top — from a Rs 6 crore brand endorsement fee, the actress has reportedly hiked her price to a whopping Rs 7.5 crore.

Our industry sources say that Kareena, in fact, has had to slash her endorsement fee by Rs 1 crore, but Dippy, despite the high fee, has several leading brands in her kitty.

“No actress has quoted an amount as big as this and received it as well. Only Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan are paid as exorbitantly,” says an ad agency founder.

The ad guru adds that thanks to the perception that Deepika can help enhance a brand’s market value, she is in a position to state her price.

“It’s commendable for an actress to hold her own in an industry that is supposed to be male-dominated,” points out a trade analyst.
