Secretariat not ready for Chandrababu Naidu, will take three months to complete

Seemandhra employees have decided to give a red carpet welcome to Mr Naidu

Hyderabad: With only a day left for the swearing-in ceremony of N. Chandrababu Naidu as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Secretariat is just not ready for him and his council of ministers.

Work has not even started on renovating the eighth floor of L block, which will house the Chief Minister’s office. It will take at least three months for the CM’s office to be ready.

It was originally planned to locate the CMO in H South block, and later in H North block, and renovations had even begun in the former, but Mr Naidu’s astrologer rejected the location as being incompatible with the principles of Vasthu.

L block apparently does not suffer from any malevolent influences, and while it is being readied for him, Mr Naidu will work from the Lake View Guest House on Raj Bhavan Road near Somajiguda.

Mr Naidu is likely to start his innings as the first CM of the newly configured AP State with 12 ministers. Their offices too are still being refurbished.
Unlike the Telangana Secretariat where all the 11 ministers have been accommodated in one block, AP ministers have been allocated different blocks - J, K, H North and H South.

“We are speeding up the work and hope that the chambers of various ministers are ready by the time they come to Hyderabad after the swearing-in,” said roads and buildings department principal secretary, B. Sam Bob. He also confirmed that the eighth floor of L block will be ready in another three months.
