Lucknow: A woman judge is now a victim of rape in Uttar Pradesh. Police reports admitted on Tuesday that a woman judge was raped and an attempt was made to kill her in Aligarh district. The incident comes exactly a week after the double rape and murder in Badaun district which has caused nationwide outrage.
According to reports, the woman judge was found unconscious in her official residence on Monday night. She had apparently been drugged and was badly injured.
SSP Nitin Tiwari told reporters that a case has been registered on the complaint of the victim’s brother.
“So far, there has been no medical examination of the victim because we are waiting for her to recover and be in a position to give her statement,” he said.
Police sources said that the woman judge was apparently made to drink pesticide, because a half empty can of the same was recovered from the scene of crime.
The woman judge has since been admitted to a hospital where her condition continues to be serious.
