Lingaa gets Rupees 30 crore offer for Tollywood rights?

Superstar's Lingaa to break his Robo record which fetched Rs 27 crore

Chennai: If industry sources are to be believed, even as the shooting schedules for Superstar Rajinikanth’s film, Lingaa, get under way, the demand for the film in Tollywood is skyrocketing, even surpassing his earlier blockbusters.

The buzz is that negotiations for the Telugu dubbing rights for Rajinikanth’s Lingaa, which has two sizzling heroines, Anushka and Sonakshi Sinha, and is directed by K S Ravikumar, have already begun and many have offered as much as Rs 30 crores for it for the Andhra territory alone.

Insiders say that the actor’s earlier magnum opus, Robo (Enthiran in Tamil) fetched only Rs 27 crores.

It is a known secret that the star’s last offering, Kochadiiayaan, directed by daughter Soundarya in which Rajini was apparently seen in motion-captured animated form, had to compete hard with T’town flick, Manam, when both released on the same day.

Perhaps the simple fact is that millions of Rajini fans want to see their Thalaivar in flesh and blood. Presently, the shooting of Lingaa which has a music score by A R Rahman is going on at a brisk pace in Hyderabad.
