Union government urged to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh High Court

Hyderabad: Telangana Judges, judicial officers, staff and advocates on Thursday urged the Union government to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh High Court and distribute judges and other staff based on their nativity for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

They also sought distribution of judges and other staff based on nativity in all the courts in Telangana too.

It was decided to celebrate Telangana state Formation Day on a big scale on June 2 in all courts in Telangana.

N. Narayana, the District Judge and convener of the Telangana Judges Association, chaired the meeting at a hotel in the city.

Advocates JAC convener M. Rajender Reddy and 60 others were present.

They also demanded that all the excess staff belonging to other region should be sent back after scrutiny.

“It was unanimously resolved in a meeting to request the Union Government to take immediate steps for bifurcation of the High Court for the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh,” Mr Rajender Reddy said in a statement.

He appealed to Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan to declare June 2 as public holiday to enable employees to celebrate formation of Telangana.

The participants also decided to celebrate Telangana Formation Day on June 2 by hoisting national flag and Telangana flag at all bar associations in the courts in Telangana.
