CBI to seek changes in Lokpal law

CBI feels certain provisions of the Lokpal are not in tune with Central laws

New Delhi: With the Modi-led NDA government assuming office on Monday, experts believe that the CBI, may seek some changes regarding “certain provisions” in the anti-corruption watchdog Lokpal, formed by the previous UPA government.

CBI director Ranjit Sinha has already expressed his reservations over certain provisions of the Lokpal and noted that a few of them are not in tune with Central laws.

Most CBI officials are of the view that the UPA proposal to put the CBI under the Lokpal’s ambit would only create another “master” for the probe agency.
