Chennai: “I have been talking so much about my onscreen heroes. Now, it’s time to talk about the real hero in my life,” gushed actress Amala Paul, pointing at her fiancé, director Vijay, at the press gathering organised to distribute the invites for their wedding.
The wedding is scheduled for June 12 in the city, whereafter Amala has decided to put her acting career on the back-burner.
“Earlier, my career was my priority,” she said. “After Vijay entered my life, my priorities have changed. Now, my full concentration is on taking care of him. I may not be part of full-fledged commercial films, but I may consider taking up any performance-oriented roles that come my way.”
Could the reason for this be the couple’s desire to start a family immediately? When asked, an amused Amala shot back, “So, how many children should we have?”
However, an embarrassed Vijay grabbed the mike from her hand and said, “With all your blessings, we will definitely have kids soon.”
“I am marrying my best friend,” Vijay said.” There’s an advantage to being friends and then getting married. We know each other’s pluses and minuses.
As for their honeymoon, Vijay said, “Honestly, there’s no time to think about it. I am waiting for my film, Saivam, to get released.”
