BJP warns TRS to be cautious against MIM

'Why TRS joined hands with MIM, which opposed Telangana state'

Hyderabad: BJP Telangana president G. Kishan Reddy came down heavily on the TRS for joining hands with the MIM and also opposed the inclusion of Charminar in the official logo of the Telangana government.

Speaking to the media at the BJP’s office on Saturday, Mr Kishan Reddy asked the TRS why it joined hands with the MIM which opposed a separate Telangana state and advocated a Rayala Telangana state. He said it was unethical on the part of the TRS leaders to go to the MIM leaders.

He cautioned the TRS that working with the MIM is not good for Telangana state. Mr Kishan Reddy said the MIM was trying to strengthen itself under the shadow of the Congress and was now trying the same with the TRS.

He said the TRS joined hands with the MIM in view of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal corporation elections. Mr Kishan Reddy described the MIM as a communal and anti-Telangana party. He said the MIM was rejected by the Muslim community in the recent elections and it remained confined to the old city of Hyderabad.

He said by sending a party delegation to the MIM leader’s house to discuss the alliance, TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao had insulted Telangana people. Mr Kishan Reddy also opposed the inclusion of Charminar in the official logo of the Telangana government.

He said that officials should take the opinion of political parties before finalising the official logo of the Telangana government. He said the BJP would participate in the Telangana formation day celebrations being organised by the Telangana JAC from June 1.
