Sanjjanaa is busy with Kannada films but also has a couple of Telugu movies in hand. And now, the actress has landed a Malayalam film where she is playing a Muslim girl. “I have bagged a very exciting role. I wear a burkha during most of the film and I have to express emotions only through my eyes. I have played several glamorous characters and this is the first time I will play a de-glamourised one,” Sanjjanna said.
The actress has done a Malayalam film in the past where she acted along with Mollywood biggie Mohan Lal. “After that film, I got many offers, but most of them were small or secondary leads. But instead of doing those characters, I decided to wait for the good one and now I think I have landed the right one with Badarul Muneer Husunul Jamaal,” the actress added. Sanjjanaa also considers herself lucky to have bagged a role like this despite several “glamorous to ultra-glamorous roles” in the past. “The director Ra Shafeer considered me for the role after he watched my Kannada film Mathe,” she said.
