Narendra Modi accuses EC of being partial, says polling in Uttar Pradesh unfair

Azamgarh: Keeping up the attack on the Election Commission, Narendra Modi on Thursday alleged that polling in the last three phases of Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal had not been fair and accused the poll body of being biased.

The BJP prime ministerial candidate, who was denied permission by poll authorities to hold a public meeting in Varanasi, used the rally here to mount a fresh attack on the EC.

"In UP, Bihar and West Bengal there were reports of serious malpractices in the last three phases. I want to tell Election Commission that I had warned you on April 24 that you are not discharging your responsibility well.

"Polling should be free and fair but in the last three phases it did not happen," Modi alleged.

Holding a rally for BJP candidate Ramakant Yadav, who is contesting against SP President Mulayam Singh Yadav, Modi said, "I accuse the Election Commission of not being impartial".

The Gujarat chief minister also attacked the SP chief saying, "Governments are supposed to do good for people but these people here are doing good for themselves and their family only."

Modi said 'netaji' had come here to secure his future but he would not be successful. Attacking the SP, BSP and the Congress, Modi said they keep fighting in Lucknow but always join hands in Delhi.

"Congress, SP and BSP are no different but are the same. They fight here but have meals together in Delhi with 'Madam' (Sonia) being their host," he said.
