IPL 7: RCB batting vs Sunrisers bowling

RCB looks for new start while SRH wants to continue last winning performance

Bengaluru: Not many in the Royal Challengers Bangalore team — a motley lot assembled from countries across continents can really call the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium ‘home’, but they would be comforted to be back.

After all, the team won seven of the eight games here last season and with the IPL’s Middle East sojourn having proved a mini-disaster for the much-vaunted team, Virat Kohli’s desperate bunch will grab any advantage however slight.

A sea of boisterous fans firmly behind the team should help reverse the losing streak. First up at home for Kohli and his men are the equally languishing Sunrisers Hyderabad here on Sunday and the test would be for RCB’s batsmen.

Although one of the strongest batting sides on paper, RCB’s batsmen proved a bunch of misfiring amateurs in the UAE leg. It is this detail Kohli will have to set right.

Face-to-face, the two southern state teams are on even ground. Off the five matches each has played, they have won two and lost three, with RCB only marginally ahead on run rate.
