TRS to play key role at centre, says kesava Rao

KCR recently announced support to Rahul Gandhi for PM post

Hyderabad: The TRS, which is confident of bagging a good number of LS seats in Telangana, has begun parleys with national parties for formation of new government at the Centre.

“We will play a key role in national politics. We are in touch with some national parties and preliminary talks are on with regard to formation of new government at the Centre,” TRS secretary general, Dr K. Kesava Rao said.

Dr Rao, who is in charge of national affairs, however, refused to reveal the names of political parties.

“There are three main contenders, Congress, NDA and Third Front,” he added.

TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who had been hinting on backing a non-Congress and non-BJP government for sometime, recently announced support to Rahul Gandhi if he sought TRS support to become the prime minister, indicating he kept all options open. The TRS secretary general, Dr Rao, urged the Governor and EC to take suo moto action against Seemandhra leaders indulging in inflammatory speeches and trying to create law and order problem.

Mr Rao also assured that only a TRS government would be in a position to fight against injustice in the region in many spheres in a democratic and scientific manner.
