While his own innumerable attempts to revive his Bollywood career have fizzled out, Govinda has been busy ensuring that his daughter Narmada gets an enviable filmi debut. However, those plans haven’t come to fruition either. In fact, say industry sources, this was the reason for strained relations between Govinda and his close friend Salman Khan.
“Govinda expected Salman to promote Narmada. Instead, Salman gave that push to Sonakshi Sinha’s career. This obviously didn’t go down well with Govinda,” our source claimed. However, when we caught up with Narmada’s doting father, he claimed that he didn’t need support from anyone in B town to launch his daughter. “She is a very talented and dedicated girl,” Govinda told us. “I’m sure that when a filmmaker has a suitable script for her, they’ll approach her. We’re in no hurry to launch her. In the last one year, Narmada has turned down around 30 scripts.”
