Tickets denied, yet leaders work for K. Chandrasekhar Rao

Candidates who are denied tickets will work collectivelyfor KCR's victory

Hyderabad: It’s the “heartbroken leaders” who were denied the TRS tickets, who are working for the victory of TRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao in the Gajwel Assembly seat in Medak district.

Mr Rao, who is known for his good oratory and managerial skills, has displayed his typical political skills by making six disgruntled candidates from various districts, who were denied tickets, to settle in Gajwel and work collectively for his victory.

Normally, disgruntled candidates revolt against party leadership and file nominations as rebels or independent candidates. But strangely, in this case, they joined hands and are working for the victory of their boss.

Gajwel constituency has six mandals and Mr Rao has appointed each of them as mandal party in-charge and has handed them campaigning responsibilities.
TRS politburo member and party’s student wing leader Errolla Srinivas had aspired for a ticket from Andhole constituency in Medak. To his shock, it was given to Tollywood comedian Babumohan, who deserted TD to join TRS just days ahead of the nominations. Later, he tried for the Secunderabad Cantonment seat, but was denied that too.

Similarly, Karne Prabhakar aspired for the Munugodu Assembly seat in Nalgonda but was denied. He raised a hue and cry at Telangana Bhavan and later stayed away from party activities.

Party’s youth wing president Bonthu Rammohan, wanted the Sanathnagar or Uppal seat but was denied both. Another leader, Kotha Prabhakar Reddy, had aspired for the Dubbaka Assembly seat in Medak.

Party’s Medak president R. Satyanarayana, who sacrificed his MLC seat in 2008, wanted the Sanga Reddy ticket but was denied the same while TRS’ ST cell state president Ramulu Nayak had aimed for the Boath ticket, but had failed.

Party’s official spokesperson and Medak district party in-charge, Rajaiah Yadav had aspired for the Zaheerabad or Medak LS seat but was denied both.

“KCR might have thought that if they are left alone in their districts, they would work against the party out of anger. If they are brought here, they will seek solace from each other of not getting tickets and work for him. That way, he is deriving double benefits from them,” said Ekkaldevi Ramesh, a Congress activist.
