Rajniesh Duggall is rumoured to be among top three contestants on 'Khatron Ke Khiladi'
Mumbai: Model-turned actor, Rajniesh Duggall is topping the popularity charts with Colors’ hit reality TV show Khatron Ke Khiladi season 5, which has even been reported to have crossed 1,00,000 viewership. If Internet sources are to be believed, Duggall is among the top three finalists of this season. According to him fellow contestants Salman and Gurmeet are his toughest competitors, but the show’s format is such that they themselves don’t know who the winner is.
Speaking about his overall experience, the soft-spoken actor shares, “It’s been amazing, crazy, adventurous and a scary experience! It takes away all your fears and helps conquer them.” The handsome hunk also reveals that Rohit Shetty is a great host as he brings out a lot of fun elements on the sets, plays pranks on anyone and everyone and has been the greatest motivational factor to all the contestants.
“Before every stunt, Rohit sir would say give a shot, nahi hua toh it’s ok but you have to at least try, mind mein regret mat rakhna,” quips Rajniesh who has also managed to maintain a thick friendship with Salman and Niketan Dhir on the show and the three of them earned the nickname of “backseat boys” as they used to sit on the last seat of the bus while leaving for shoots.
Talking about his almost give-up moment on the show he shares: “There was a stunt which involved not one but about 60 snakes inside a well. As I am petrified of snakes and reptiles, I was going to give up on that task but, I made up my mind and started imagining that they were all garlands just like how in yester year Hindi movies someone threw a snake at you and it turned into a garland,” laughs the brawny man.
Apart from reality shows, Duggall has finished a Rajshri Productions’ movie called Samrat & Co. which is scheduled to be released by the end of April. It’s a murder mystery and a detective thriller film directed by Kaushik Ghatak and produced by Kavita K. Barjatya.
He further he informs that working under this banner was like a dream come true for him since he had grown up watching Rajshri’s films.
Talking about his character, the actor elaborates: “In Samrat & Co. everyone is playing a grey yet a positive character. Rajeev Khandelwa is in the lead as Samrat and I am playing the character of Deepak, who is the right hand man for Girish Karnad and Priyanshu Chatterjee. The story progresses when a murder takes place in the house leading to series of events and all the characters come under the scrutiny of detective Samrat.”
He has also finished a movie called Spark which is an action film based out of UP and is about a man who’s trapped between two political parties.
It stars Bengali actress Subhashree Ganguly in the lead opposite him, is directed by Binod Kumar Singh and produced by Naresh Gupta. “I am open to playing negative and grey characters as I feel cinema has changed a lot. I’ll be doing a super natural thriller after this titled Hotel 2 and I have been offered Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ s next season as well. I might take it up if my dates don’t clash,” he concludes.
