CHENNAI: There is a big buzz in K’town that Sridevi will be roped in for Ilayathalapthy’s next film, still untitled, with Chimbudevan, and that the team is in talks with Shruti Haasan to play the female lead. When DC contacted P. T. Selvakumar, who will be producing the film, he says, “Right now, Vijay is busy shooting for Katthi, but the official announcement about the film will be released soon. Still everything is under discussion.” About Sridevi he says, “The talks are going on, and it’s too early to comment about it.” Sources say that the film will be one-of-its-kind fantasy film in Chimbudevan’s style. When Shruthi was contacted, she said she doesn’t want to talk about it now. Sridevi made her big comeback in Bollywood in 2012, with English Vinglish which did very well at the box-office, and it was even released in Tamil and Telugu.
After that, many directors and producers approached her for playing character roles in several films with big heroes in K’town but she refused.
