The actor thought that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani had more substance than Karan Johar's Shuddhi
Mumbai: Deepika Padukone is today one of those few actors in the industry who’s in a position to choose the filmmakers she wants to work with, and not viceversa. Not many days ago, the actress found herself in a tricky spot when she had to choose between two top notch directors Karan Johar’s Shuddhi and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani.
Her excellent rapport with both filmmakers is known to all. Hence understandably it was a tough call for Deepika. According to close sources Deepika thought that SLB’s Bajirao Mastani had more substance than Shuddhi. Apparently, she spoke to KJo and explained her reason to not take up Shuddhi. As they are close friends, Karan understood her reasons.
“SLB has been working on the film for almost 15 years. He would certainly ensure that the film lives up to the hype it has created over the years,” says a source close to Deepika.
