Hung in Telengana, Jagan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh, says survey

Pre-poll survey sees tough going for Telugu Desam

Hyderabad: The YSRC will sweep both the Assembly and Parliamentary elections in Seemandhra while the TRS and Congress would share the cake almost equally in a hung Telangana Assembly, according to a pre-poll survey telecast by a television channel.

The survey conducted by AC Nielsen confirms the popular perception that while the Congress is washed out in Seemandhra, the YSRC is out of the race in Telangana.

However, the survey, which covered 40,000 respondents in both regions, showed that the TDP prospects had improved in Seemandhra.

The survey reported that the TRS may emerge as the largest party in Telangana with 51-57 Assembly seats out of 119. It will be followed by the Congress with 46-52 seats, resulting in a hung Assembly.

The survey showed the TDP getting 4-6 seats, the BJP 5-8, YSRC 1-3, MIM 7-8 and others, 7-10. The vote shares were: Congress 30 per cent, TRS 34, TD 13, BJP 10, YSRC 3 and MIM and others, 10 per cent.
