BJP MLA threatens to ‘strip’ Rahul, Sonia Gandhi and ‘send them back to Italy'

Heeralal Regar later apologised saying he has not taken any name

Jaipur: As election season began, hate speeches continued to hit the headlines. A BJP MLA threatened Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi, saying they should be stripped and sent back to Italy.

While addressing a rally in Tonk, Heeralal Regar said, “Sonia and Rahul Gandhi should be stripped off their clothes and sent back to Italy, if BJP came to power.”

However, in a telephonic interview to CNN-IBN, Regar later apologised for his comment and said he had been misquoted.

Reportedly, Regar said, “I have not taken any name. If anyone is hurt by my comments, I apologise.”

A few days ago, Congress candidate from Saharanpur, Imran Masood, had threatened to “chop” Narendra Modi into pieces. Masood was later arrested and sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
