Hyderabad: Tollywood actor Nanduri Uday Kiran, who was arrested by the city police on Monday, it is learnt, used to buy drugs from Goa. Investigation officials said that Uday’s ‘source’ Rotimi Olusola Kehinde, a Nigerian, whom he had met in Goa, had promised to deliver drugs in Hyderabad.
Police officials said Uday was sent to judicial remand and will be taken into police custody with the court’s permission. “He was in touch with a drug peddler in Goa, from whom he used to buy the contraband. We will try to trace those sources in further investigation,” a police officer from the Anti Narcotic cell of the CCS said. Uday was caught by the Commissioner’s Task Force at Jubilee Hills check post while making a transaction on Monday.
